OSIRIS
Situational Intelligence Platform
A shared map-based view of information from multiple sources, developed for situational awareness and decision support.
OSIRIS is a platform in development. It brings a new information and analysis direction to Hazards Control’s established work in risk assessment and engineering.
Platform in development
The approach
One map. Multiple signals.
A common geographical context for information that is often viewed separately.
Events, infrastructure and sector-specific information are often explored in separate sources. OSIRIS is being developed to bring selected sources and data layers together in a shared map-based view.
Information in context
See where information belongs. Explore what surrounds it. Develop a clearer understanding of the situation.
The sources, coverage and available layers will be defined for each release.
Development scope
What OSIRIS can bring together
The platform’s development scope spans events, energy, infrastructure, transport and open-source information. The categories below describe that direction; availability will depend on the sources and layers included in each release.
Events & Geopolitical Context
Events and incidents considered in their geographical context.
Energy & Infrastructure
Energy systems, oil and gas, fuels and relevant infrastructure.
Transport & Movement
Aviation, shipping and transport networks.
Open Sources & Spatial Context
Selected open-source information and geographical reference layers.
Understanding the situation
From data to situational awareness
The value of a map lies in the context it makes easier to explore.
The purpose of a shared map is to help users interpret what is happening, where it is happening and what surrounds it. Bringing signals into context can help users explore relationships, concentrations of events and the questions that need further analysis.
OSIRIS is being developed with this approach in mind: supporting human interpretation and informed decisions through a clearer view of information.
Planned public version
OSIRIS Open
A free public version of OSIRIS is planned.
Access details and the scope of available information will be published here when it is ready.
Public access coming soon
A later stage of development
OSIRIS Professional
An extended paid version is planned for a later stage of development. Its scope and availability will be announced as the platform develops.
Risk Intelligence & Engineering
Developed by Hazards Control
OSIRIS is being developed by Hazards Control, drawing on experience in industrial risk analysis, fire and explosion safety, independent technical assessment and engineering decision support.
Our engineering work starts with the evidence available, its limits and the decision to be made. That perspective informs the development of OSIRIS.
